If your child is having difficulty completing the daily assignments, please contact your child's teacher as soon as possible. Teacher and parents can work together to modify assignments so that your child feels successful.
The daily reading for the reading log is perhaps the most important component of the 1st grade homework program. As often as possible, our students should be reading aloud to an adult. Selecting reading material using the "Goldilocks Rule" is helpful; therefore, the text should not be too hard and not too easy, but just right. This means that your child should be able to read the text with relative ease in order to become a more fluent reader.
